Pole & 3 podiums for the Island

Friday practice showed a solid pace with a P1 and P3 in the two sessions.  Max said “The car had good balance on used tyres and should be quick on greens”

 Saturday morning qualifying went very well setting the fastest lap of qualy late in the session with under race lap record time at 1:30.6677 , 0.3230 clear pf the rest of the field.

 Starting on Pole Max had an average start on the dirty side on the track, exiting turn 1 in P2, but with a massive move on the outside of turn 3 on cold tyres setup an overtake at turn 4 to take the lead.  With a mid race safety car shortening Max’s lead and defending pressure from behind he takes the win with a 0.532 sec margin.

 Race 2 after the start Max moved into P2 challenging for the lead for 10 laps until an incident in turn 4 passing a lapped car and having to use the escape road to avoid a collision dropping him back to 6th place.  Using the remaining laps to work his way back to 3rd place by the end of the race.

 Race 3.  From start to finish race in P3 with some bumper to bumper racing.  “I hurt my tyres early in the race, I was seriously frustrated with the over blocking and didn’t have anything left for the rest of the race.  “I will have to put it down  to something I have to work on”. Max explains
